Burgham International Horse Trials

Despite the ever changing weather we had a brilliant few days at the wonderful Burgham - some of the best XC courses and definitely the best ground we could have asked for mid-Summer!!

Day 1

We had a super first day at Burgham Horse Trials - RICKAMORE ROYAL and 6yo GLOBAL PROMISE both did personal best dressage tests to score 30.1 and 30.8 respectively to sit 7th and 9th after the first day of dressage in the CCI-S2*. Tomorrow DYNASTY and BALIUS 7 are in the OI and HERO RHF does his CCI-S2* dressage 🤞🎉 It was absolutely scorching all morning but the heavens definitely decided to open in the evening leaving us absolutely drenched after course walking!!

Day 2

Another busy day at Burgham Horse Trials - DYNASTY had his first run of the year in the OI doing a lively dressage for 30 and a very steady double clear to finish 8th - I couldn't be more happy to have him back out!! BALIUS 7 was contesting his first intermediate having only run once this year so he was a little under prepared and thrown in at the deep end but nevertheless performed super and grew in confidence ready for his next one. HERO RHF did his CCI-S2* dressage and definitely didn’t let the side down scoring 28.9 which puts him in 9th before the jumping with the other two horses just inside the top 20 - hope they have their jumping shoes on tomorrow🤞

Day 3

We had a fantastic final day at Burgham Horse Trials with three horses doing their jumping phases in the CCI-S2* - RICKAMORE ROYAL was brilliant following up his 30.8 dressage with one frustrating pole in the SJ and a super clear XC inside the time to finish 15th in a huge class - frustratingly his pole cost him 5th but we are over the moon with his progress in the dressage. GLOBAL PROMISE jumped a super clear round in tough conditions in the SJ and was super XC just a little green into the first water for 20 pens but she finished full of confidence and ready for the next one. HERO RHF was the 🌟 of the day following up his 28.9 dressage with an annoying fence SJ and a super clear XC inside the time to finish 8th, although again his pole stopped him from finishing 3rd! Over all not my best weekend in the show jumping ring but I am over the moon with some solid tests and some brilliant XC rounds as well as being SO happy to have had Dynasty out for his first run since Burghley last year!!
