Burgham Horse Trials

We seem to like our trips to the north of England, which is quite a good job as you definitely find some very impressive events up there! We headed to Burgham with a full lorry and about 9 hours later arrived and unpacked for our 3 days of competition, the results were as follows...

QUICK GUY - 31 dressage, 4 faults SJ and quick clear XC for 6th in the Novice

GUUS DHI - 31 dressage followed by a double clear just adding a few time faults in the intermediate. I was very pleased with him round a technical XC and only his second time at this level.

DYNASTY - did a much improved dressage and two great jumping rounds in tough conditions in the CIC3*. He makes the XC at this level feel so so easy now, probably the best horse to ride XC!

BALIUS 7 - last but not least, the ever improving Theo did a lovely test although a little harshly marked, and followed it up by a double clear inside the time in the CIC* - we had a rather stressful finish as we caught up and had to overtake the rider in front, but luckily the Burgham team were fantastic in sorting out our XC time after being held up by the other rider. He finished 16th out of 80+ starters. I'm really looking forward to Theo’s first 3-day at Millstreet at the end of August.

Thanks to Burgham for a fantastic event in testing conditions - couldn’t have asked for better ground!
