Glorious Gatcombe...In The Mud!
I was lucky enough to get my second crack at the Event Rider Masters series at Gatcombe, following on from my run at Chatsworth earlier in the season. I partnered my ever loyal campaigner Blue Moonshine, who started off well producing a sweet test and getting some impressive comments for lots of his work although we thought the final score was a little harsh. Lonso jumped a fantastic show jumping round, one of the best he ever has so I was delighted, however I let him down through one line resulting in 8 faults which he really didn't deserve. On to the fun bit and usually Lonso's favourite phase - unfortunately it wasn't our day, Lonso wasn't a fan of the deep going and we weren't quite on our A game!! He jumped great round some parts and it was such a thrill to get to compete in the ERM series again. I owe huge thanks to my #ERMsupergroom Charlie Farrow who worked tirelessly to keep Lonso looking sparkling white all weekend despite the mud and Walnut Hill Equine Veterinary Clinic for the kit, it was great to be promoting them at an event they have so much association with!
