The End of an Era...

This is probably the hardest post I have ever had to write, but it is easiest to say it like this than for everyone to ask about him. Today I had to say goodbye to my partner in crime Albert (Ironstein). After a freak accident in the field almost 3 weeks ago, he has been fighting tirelessly under the phenomenal care of Andy Bathe and his team at Rossdales Veterinary Surgeons, of whom we owe huge thanks and will be forever grateful to, however he couldn't fight the infection or withstand any further operations and treatment. Albert had the biggest character and will be fondly remembered for his cheeky antics and the many times he spent most of his dressage test broncing, but also in what an incredible all round event horse he had become. From an unknown 5yo to a 3* event horse! Without a doubt he was one of the best jumpers to grace the event circuit, and he slowly learnt to also shine on the flat with personal bests at FEI all season and scoring a 22!! in an Intermediate test in his last run. He will be sorely missed, not only as part of the team, but also as part of the family and especially by his stable mate Raffles. He always did think he could jump to the clouds, one thing is for sure he won't ever be replaced.
